Sylvie
worked mainly with motifs from nature or other subjects, that she photographed
in close-up then organized in serial patterns. When seen from afar the montages
seemed like an abstract composition, but some motifs became identifiable when
seen at a close distance. This optical phenomenon is called apperception.
Greatly inspired by the photographic works of David Hockney, Sylvie Lacerte
explored color, light and graphic figures in her analog works. The photomontages
were crafted by hand and can at times convey some unexpected results.
